MIRAMSHAH: A drone strike in Datakhel area of North Waziristan tribal region killed four persons on Sunday.

Political administration sources told Dawn.com that the drone targeted a compound with two missiles killing at least four persons all of whome belonged to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group operating in the area.

The last drone attack in the region that took  place on march 22.

North Waziristan region is close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and is one of the seven regions in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), governed by tribal laws.

Attacks by unmanned US aircraft are deeply unpopular in Pakistan, which says they violate its sovereignty and fan anti-US sentiment, but US officials are said to believe the attacks are too important to give up.

  1. It is unhealthy to be a suspect. I have been a suspect of the U.S. government, but they just came and kicked my door in, bound me, and carted me away in a van. Guess it’s harder to go kick a door in in Waziristan…so they just blow up the door, the building, the suspects, and anyone else in the immediate area. it’s always been a hard world, made even harder by companies in the ammunition business. I had a Jewish professor friend of mine tell me it was better to be powerful than powerless…problem is most of us are finding ourselves more and more powerless. Thanks for the post.
